About

Welcome to my Blog.

I got into design and marketing when I started DJing as DJ Red Sonya in 2001. There was always a need for marketing, everything from flyer design to social networking. I first started out doing web design when I did events with a production company called Vinyl Elements. We had a website made for us, but paying the web designer for updates and then waiting for them wasn’t an option. I took web design classes at City College in San Diego, learned my way around Dreamweaver, and became fluent in HTML Language. During this time, I also learned Photoshop and Illustrator by creating original flyer design for our monthly club events.

At some point, someone told me to check out WordPress. I did, and I have been hooked ever since. I built my own website with WordPress, and I’ve built many of my friend’s websites. Currently, I am working part-time as a Marketing Professional / Webmaster for a small business for which I built an E-commerce store. I also am working with many clients on freelance projects, WordPress theme customizations and search engine optimization.

    Hey there Sojna -

I’m also a web developer and have been working for several weeks on a WP E-Commerce project for a heavy equipment consignment broker. Your name popped up multiply on the Instinct forms w/ issues basically identical to those I am running into, and when I peeked at the CNC shop you made it’s pretty much the same type of deal we are going for. That being said, the need to constantly hack and edit WP is driving me out of my freakin’ mind, and this project still has a long way to go. I guess my question to you is this: If you had it to do over again, do you think it’s WP E-Commerce is even worth it? I’m sitting here w/ my client and looking at other options (that cost tons more of course) and I know this is out of the blue, but any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated – I’ll owe you one.

That is a great question. It depends on what you need it to do. It’s not the easiest to customize. Good luck, and thanks for your comment, Sam!
